My Treaty of Versailles


             Article 4.
             Germany has been allowed to keep some of its colonies, as they will help its trade and industry to recover. This will enable them to pay pack the money they owe without too much delay. It has also been allowed so that they are not stripped of all independence and feel the need to go to war with other countries. .

             Article 5.
             It has been forbidden for Austria to unite with Germany after splitting from Austria-Hungary. Austria is a German speaking country and if we allow it to unite with Germany they may become stronger and be a threat to other countries. This could lead to them trying to take over other countries and we would have another war. For the safety of other countries we should not allow them to unite.
             Article 6 .
             The decision made over the important German trading port of Danzig, which is claimed by Poland, is to let it be controlled by an international organisation (League of Nations). The reason for this is because if we give it to either of the countries there may be jealousy between them, which may lead to conflict. It is better to give it to a neutral organisation.
             Article 7 .
             West Prussia and Posen have mostly German speaking people but Poland needs these areas for access to the Baltic Sea. It was decided after much consideration that we should give these areas to Germany, as it was more convenient as they already spoke German and it would be too much change for them to be ruled by Poland and have to change their native language. We also felt that Poland did not need the Baltic Sea as they already had access to the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.
             Article 8.
             Sudetenland part of the old Austro-Hungarian Empire is now going to govern itself and have its own independence. The reasons for giving the country independence is that if we give it to the Germans, which is what makes up most of the populations in Sudetenland it has mountains which over look Czechoslovakia and it means they would have a good advantage and be able to fire down on them.
