The Next Great Sitcom

While surfing the infamous World Wide Web, I stumbled across an article titled "Finding the Next Great Sitcom." It was published on May 5, 2003. It expressed the author's opinion on television networks creating the next great sitcom. It talked about trying to find the next Seinfeld and Friends. .
The author's opinion states that sitcoms are dying in the industry today. He stated that they are dying because people want to see more reality television shows because of the World Trade Center attacks on 9/11. .
Personally I feel that sitcom did not die. I believe that reality television shows and the attacks on the World Trade Center did not have anything to do with sitcoms dying. Reality Television is becoming more popular to the public. On the other hand, Reality TV can be slow moving and becomes really boring to watch. To test my theory, I watched two Reality TV shows. I watched Mr. Personality, where a woman picks a man to marry while he is wearing a mask. All that she gets to judge her decision on is his personality. This show was so boring that I could only stand to watch no more then ten minutes of the program. Another show that I saw was the all famous The Osbournes. This reality show was very entertaining. There are some disputes that the show is set up and fake. I believe that many reality shows are falsified because when there is a camera in your face you tend to act very different. .
Even though some reality television shows are interesting to watch, sitcoms are not dying. Sitcoms are still more interesting to watch and in most cases more humorous. I agree with the author that it is indeed going to be difficult to create the next Seinfeld or Friends, but I do not agree that sitcom died because of September 11th. I believe that someone, somewhere, will have a crazy idea to create a new sitcom series. I believe that that the crazy producer will come up with the next big hit television, prime time, family sitcom.
