Why do we need school spirit in our Canadian schools? What's the use of comprising it? What makes the fundraising and other charitable events turn out more money than expected? What brings the students together and help them in their studies? What makes the assemblies, sports and other extra - curricular activities in a school better and more entertaining? That magic word here would be school spirit. We unquestionably need school spirit in schools because of all the positive effects of it on our school life.
There is without doubt need for school spirit throughout the school to support the various charitable and fundraising events we have in schools like, the CCP, the 30 hour famine and many more. If a school didn't have any school spirit, the students just simply wouldn't pay any attention to these kinds of events and the school wouldn't make up that much money, as they would if the school was full of school spirit. So, if the school had spirit, the students would listen to what their representative has to say about these events and they would try to contribute as much as they can on these events. Therefore, certainly there is a need for school spirit in today's schools to support these really nice events which are held for a very fastidious and splendid cause. .
Another motive for having school spirit in schools is, if we had school spirit in our schools, it brings the students together and they act like a small community. The benefit of this is, if any student wants any help from another fellow student, they can easily get it because if the student he/she is asking help from, has school spirit, they will definitely help the student because they will think the person asking for help is from their own school and help them. Hence, we need to have school spirit to make the school a good place for education and working as a community and helping each other.
In addition to fundraising and school pride, school spirit also has an effect on the organization of assemblies, sports events and many other events that a school would have.
