Gospel

Jesus has done so many great things in his life. His birth and death are what I believe made the biggest impact in our lives today. His birth signified hope for a future and his death made a way for a world that is saved from sins. I find it so hard to believe that this book is about the life of a man, who's dedicated his life to the people. It's hard to come to the realization that this person is real. In The Transfiguration, Mark 8.2-9, I learnt and believe how mystical and unexplainable Jesus is. I think that no one will be able to understand the life of Jesus and what he has been through. When Jesus was transfigured and his clothes became dazzling white, appearing with Elijah and Moses, there are just certain things that you can't explain. This also relates to all the miracles that he performs. They are just unbelievable but yet they give so much hope and faith. Even with Peter, James and John and witnesses, they didn't understand what was happening and acted as if they were terrified. Jesus Curses the Fig Tree, Mark 11.12-15, surprised me because Jesus actually wished something bad upon a living thing. Because it was not in season, he said "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." This surprised me because I thought that Jesus was too holy to curse at anything but then after reading the following passage, I understood. The Fig tree has a lesson behind it, as he said when he spoke to the disciples. This passage and the follow up to it, made me realize that everything Jesus does has a lesson, almost like his life is a parable, a story with a moral. Jesus is wise and knows what his father wants him to do. He is here to walk in his footsteps on solid ground. I think that the most important thing that I have learnt is from 15.33-40, the passage called "The Death of Jesus." When Jesus says "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" This is Jesus" last words before he takes his final breath.
