Tom Robinson

Tom Robinson was one of the best characters in the book To Kill a Mockingbird. He is tall and stocky, with his right arm being strong, but not his left. I feel that if it weren't for slavery he"d still be using his left arm. I feel this because he wouldn't have to work in a cotton gin during slavery. Tom Robinson was accused of a crime that he did not commit. I think that if he were white he wouldn't have been convicted. I also believe that people shouldn't think of anyone less or more depending on the color of the skin. Tom Robinson had a very big role in this book and those are only some of the reasons why.
People so ignorant and close-minded like Mayella and her family really piss me off, and I wonder how anyone could have the heart to be so cold. "They shot him," said Atticus. "He was running. It was during their exercise period. They said he just broke into a blind raving charge at the fence and started climbing over." I believe he was running because he was tired of the way he was being treated, and would rather try to run than to go through another trial. I"m sure it caused him stress so he decided to run. He got shot for no reason either. I think Tom Robinson didn't do anything wrong to deserve this. I believe the guards of the prison lost their mind. Killing Tom Robinson is like killing a mockingbird because he was a good person, and it shouldn't have happened.
