Hamlet essay

.
After reflecting on self-slaughter, Hamlet exhibits his true innermost feelings on the existence of men, displays his thoughts about the world, and examines the world as hopeless and full of injustice. Hamlet perceives the world as hopeless because when life becomes difficult, man has nowhere to turn. When a man wants to suicide because life is troublesome, the thought of the afterlife holds the man back. When Hamlet says, "Who would fardels bear, /To grunt and sweat under a weary life," he refers to the hardships of life, and the burdens men have to carry, except for the fear of life after death. In the phrase, "No traveller returns," the phrase explains that no traveler returns after death, and this idea confuses the human mind. The afterlife causes man to bear the hardships of life instead of "exchanging for the unknown." These lines illustrate how Hamlet views the world as hopeless because humans are afraid of what will happen in the afterlife, thus making humans cowards. It is the conscience that makes man cowards, the deep examination of life that overlaps the will and courage to do something about life. .
The way Hamlet views humankind as hopeless portrays his character as noble and not a character that is insane, or as King Claudius suspects his character to be. Hamlet is troubled by his mother's hasty marriage and his father's death. These two major events have an intense impact on Hamlet's life. If Hamlet had acted out in anger, King Claudius would have died, and there would be no more plots to this play. Since Hamlet had not killed King Claudius as soon as possible, he is seen as the coward. However, his delay proves that Hamlet has a noble heart, and that he thinks before he acts. When Hamlet perceives the world as hopeless, he is seen as the only one in the play to have a conscious mind. In the soliloquy, instead of turning towards violence to overcome King Claudius, Hamlet uses his mind as an alternative.
