The Life of Will

Full of hope and spread it everywhere he went. Even as a young child he had a way about him that would brighten up a room. Very intelligent; he was. He could see things about people and life that the rest of us couldn't see. As a young man, through all of the work he did and time he took for everyone else, he still maintained a healthy balance within himself. A sort of confidence that extruded from him. .
             .
He could work all day in the fields plowing the earth in the sizzling sun until he had blisters on his hands. He could take care of the crops and sell the produce, working in the rain or snow until dark and all the time with a smile on his face. As if there was a funny joke that only he knew. There was definitely something within him that made him so happy. He would spend his days in the fields with his father until he passed suddenly one day while working. From that point on he worked with his brothers in the fields trying to show then how to take care of things. His mother and sister took care of the home and the baking, making special breads and jams to be sold with the produce. Even after working all day he still had the time to spend with his family. A lot of times they sat on the front porch snapping beans and husking corn for the fall harvest. Of course there were days when Will and his brothers went hunting for deer and rabbit and whatever else they could eat. Fishing too! Will loved to go fishing! He never game home empty handed wether he was hunting or fishing. What he really enjoyed best of all was when he had some time alone was writing. Father made sure his oldest son knew how to read and write and Will passed this along to his brothers every night.
             .
And one day this simple living and loving of life came to a screeching halt. Back then there was the unresolved problems of the South and the North. Neither could agree with each other and thus resulted in the Civil War. Of course both sides offered great things to those who decided to fight for their cause.
