Analysis of Brig. General Peter Talleri's Visit To Camp Taji

During the day of September 21st, life went on as normal for troops in Iraq, or at least normal for the area. One thing that was a little different was a visit by Brig. General Peter J. Talleri to Camp Taji. Talleri is the commander of the Defense Distribution Center and is stationed in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. While in the area, he also visited the Iraqi Army's General Truck Regiment.
He met with Iraqi Colonel Muhammad and was given updates of their progress and discussed future improvements. "We are working together, in a partnership, to build a bridge with our experts to grow the capability the Iraqi Army wants." Talleri continued. "By utilizing our subject matter experts we are able to establish an effective system together with them that is working well.".
The Iraqi military are gaining good knowledge by working with the US military. It is the opinion of the Armed Forces that the Iraqis are more efficient than they have been and will be even more effective as time goes on.
In other areas, as the General was meeting with military personnel, Coalition forces killed two enemy fighters during an operation near Mosul. It happened when a vehicle was approached by military personnel, and one of the occupants got nervous and started firing upon the soldiers. The Coalition forces returned fire and killed the individuals. Weapons were discovered at the scene along with bomb making materials for IEDs. One of those killed was a known al-Qaeda terrorist.
One wanted individual and three others were also captured in another operation targeting al Qaeda courier networks near Tarmiyah in the Belt region. The terrorist captured is believed to be involved with al Qaeda as a courier in the region as well as having connections in other areas. The three other individuals were captured in Sharqat.
These operation were made possible because of many men and women working together for a common goal.
