Different groups of people exist: the contentious and the amiable. An example of a contentious group is the men that showed up at the jailhouse to kill Tom Robinson. "You know what we want, another man said. Get aside from the door, Mr. Finch"(151). Here the group of men asked Mr. Finch to get away from the door so they could get Tom Robinson. Another example is Jem doesn't want to leave the jailhouse, and a man harshly said he would send Jem home. "I"ll send him home," a burly man said, and grabbed Jem roughly by the collar. He yanked Jem nearly off his feet"(152). At this point the group of men were hurting an adolescent so they can get what they wanted. An amiable group of people is the children, which is Jem, Scout, and Dill. They didn't do any harm to other group of people. They are respectful to elders and their peers. They learn from their mistakes like when they were copying the Radley and they wanted Arthur Radley to come out. Jem, Scout, and Dill learned that it is incorrect and they have no right to what Arthur Radley wants to do in his life. They learned that you should step into someone's shoes and walk around them. It means that you should put yourself into that person's situation and see how they look at things. Also that you shouldn't judge other people because they are different and they look at things differently. .
