Discuss Aristotle's Conditions Covering Greek Tragedy How Ar

A few days after his birth the king and queen took him to the Oracle as they did in those times and the oracle prophesied that the boy would grow up and kill his farther and marry his mother. Shocked by this news they had a servant take the baby too one of the mountains near by bond his feet with leather straps and pierce them so they were ingrained to the ground. By having this done they presumed he would soon be dead and they could put it all behind them. The king and Queen didn't bank on a Shepard finding the boy and giving him to another friend who then gave the baby to the king and queen of Corinth they couldn't have a baby so they adopted the foundling. He was never told that they were not his parents until one day a drunk local man mentioned it to Oedipus and not being able to get it out of his head he confronted his parents naturally they denied it so he went to a number of oracles for truth but he was always told "you will kill your farther and marry your mother-. To prove the oracles wrong he left Corinth. And this is where Aristotle's conditions come into the play .
             The first condition that I spotted was hubris it appears in the line spoken by Oedipus: "My children, believe me when I say I know everything you are suffering-. He is referring to the unfortunate members of Thebes who suffer from the plague outside of the palace the plague that the gods placed on the land because of the uncleanness of the city i.e. .
             Oedipus killing the king [his farther] on the way to Thebes, solving the riddle of the sphinx when arriving at Thebes and then being offered the hand of the queen [his mother]. However he doesn't know the extent of their suffering because he is nice and warm in the palace away from the death and anarchy outside so for that reason he is arrogant and some what patronizing. .
             It would be a arguable case that Oedipus isn't really arrogant if his arrogance could be passed of a mistake but.
