How a Television Ad Uses Rhetoric

In all the Axe commercials it is basically implying that if you use Axe products, then you will gain the attention of very attractive females and have them falling for you. As I stated earlier, "Isn't it every man's dream to have beautiful angels fall from heaven?" This is a great tool for Axe because their advertisements bring them within the realm of what men think and desire, which is to have extremely attractive females falling over them with just a simple action of spraying their Excite fragrance on their clothes and body. Just like the commercial that I described, it was implied that if men use the Axe Excite product then they will have angles falling from heaven for the man.
In today`s society, an effective way to sell any product for a man is for it to be appealing to a woman. Men, just as much as women, want to have a high sex appeal. They will use any and everything they can to make this attraction occur. A man is very self-conscious about his appearance and his style. A man's style is everything; there's the laid back style, the classy dressed man, the casual man, and the endorsement man who always wears name brand. Once a man is dressed, finds the right pair of shoes, and brushes their teeth and hair, what is the last and final step before heading out? The right selection of the fragrance for the day or evening is the main ingredient to the success of attracting the perfect woman or arousing interest in woman throughout the day. Every man has a distinctive smell; if he smells desirable and attractive, a woman will take notice as he passes by her, but if the woman smells an unpleasant smell as he walks by, then the attraction decreases. This is where the Axe advertisement comes into play. The marketers know if a man smells pleasant, then his chances of him gaining the attention of a woman will increase. The hoped for result is that the man will believe that Axe: Excite is the main reason he has the success with women and will continue to use it.
