The slogan "We'll execute the plan of the great works " made the Russian people think that Stalin was going to execute the plans of John Lenin ("Propaganda Posters "). Stalin brainwashed the people of Russia to make them believe that he was a good leader. The slogans used by Stalin also brainwashed small children into thinking that Stalin was a father to them.
             Lastly, Stalin used glittering generalities as a type of propaganda. Joseph Stalin recognized the propaganda value of embracing traditional Russian symbols ("Russian President "). Stalin would use traditional Russian symbols as a type of Glittering Generalities. Another example of Stalin's use of Glittering Generalities is on a poster that says "Glory to World-Wide October. October was when the Communist revolution took place, making the Russian people think the revolution was a good thing. Stalin also had a poster that said "Every day life is getting better. Stalin tried to make people think that the lives of the Russians were getting better every day even though they were not ("Propaganda Posters "). The glittering generalities used by Stalin mentally made people have a sense of pride of their country that was created by Stalin. Joseph Stalin used propaganda to boost himself into power, as did Napoleon.

             Similarly, Napoleon uses propaganda in Animal Farm to manipulate and control the lives of the animals. Napoleon uses fear when he uses the dogs to make the animals on the farm fear him (Orwell 35). Napoleon wants the animals to be afraid of him so that they will not attempt to overthrow, by having the dogs by his side the animals would not even try to harm him. Another example is when Napoleon has his dogs kill the four pigs that were at times rebellious and questioned his authority.
