Meeting the Workplace Needs of Millennial's

In the book "Enjoyment Leads to Success", Kim emphasizes the emerging concept of 21st century management paradigm called Work-Life Balance Management (WBM), and this term describes why job hopping (frequently changing jobs) is very common among young working professionals (36). In support of this argument, PwC administered a survey in 2011 with 4,364 university graduates, and it found that 38% of the college-educated young workers are actively looking for a different employment, 43% are open to offer, and only 18% of the young workers expect to stay with their current jobs for the long term (PwC 8). In recent years, there has been a widespread recognition of high turnover rate among young generation professionals with specific age range. This generation is called Millennial's, referring to those born between 1981 and 1999, ranging approximately from 20 to 35 (PwC 3). .
Employers have been alerted to fundamental reasons of why they are leaving the companies for other jobs as well as their expectations from their workplaces. Understandably, losing young employees can generate significant impact on the success of business since the high demands of technological skills, creative ideas, and advanced technological abilities utilized by young employees are crucial in the current knowledge-based society. Given this, possessing the capacity and awareness of appreciating employees' fundamental needs of their lives will serve as bedrock for organizations to optimize human resource management. Otherwise, it is highly likely that the management would lose its competitiveness in the war for securing young talent.
To this end, a cultural psychology scholar Kim suggests to employ Work-Life Balance (WLB) management. According to Kim, WLB can support employees in their primary lives and family obligations without conflicts with work demands by balancing between work and personal life, and this in turn increases employee satisfaction, happiness, and positively influence on the retention rate.
