I had a workshop in my Chinese university with my classmates and my professor. We developed applications for smartphones. I have an iPhone now, but some of my friends are using Android phones and a few of them are using Windows phones. I like the IOS system for Apple products. It is convenient to operate and easier to program. We made an alarm clock app for iPhones and Android phones last semester, but we have never programmed something for windows phones. I assume that maybe Windows or others system are not as popular as the IOS and Android system, at least for my friends. Therefore, I decided to conduct a research about smartphones to prove my assumption. I am investigating which system is better for my friends through their opinions on the iPhone. Therefore, I interviewed a classmate, a friend and my professor as the resources to finish my research about smartphones. .
Jarel has the same major as me. I thought he would like the IOS operating system, because he always helps other people "jailbreak" their iProducts. Jailbreak allows the iPhone to download free apps and customize the interface. User can change the default picture from the phone company or change the phone's theme after jailbreak. Through the brief interview, I found that he holds the same opinion as me that the IOS system is better. I already knew he liked jailbreak and IOS system. However, there is still something he talked to me I did not predict before the interview. He had Android phones before he bought his iTouch. When he had Androids, the phones always had some kind of software problems. There would always be an error message on his phone. .
However, with IOS, he only had one problem that took him 2 minutes to fix and he never had other problems again. I had not thought that the android system would be unstable as he claimed, because I never had an Android phone. Jarel told me in the future the market would between the Android and IOS.
