My company has chosen Doha as our next business venture primarily because of these increasing prices, hoping to get into the market before it shoots up even more. We deal completely with commercial real estate, and we are to believe Doha will be the happening place for many years to come.
Upon arrival, travel within the city appears to be bit of a mission. Due to the population boom, the city is undergoing huge expansion to its network of transportation, including construction to the metro system and new highways to help alleviate the roads being so congested. This business trip was purposely planned to avoid a Friday, due to the fact Qatar is an extremely religious and many things are closed on this day such as the metro, making travel extra difficult. It is also noted that driving can be very dangerous if you are foreign and unfamiliar with the area: there are many roundabouts and locals with luxury cars often speed. After much research, I have realized it is in my best interest to take a taxi cab while in Doha, as long as I phone and order one by telephone in advance seeing as they usually take 30 to 60 minutes to arrive. To keep my quick trip to Doha on task business wise, and also enjoy my short amount of time here with Karen I have created a brief itinerary to see as much as we possibly can.
