Broken Promises - The Affordable Care Act

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) commonly known as "The Affordable Care Act" (ACA) or "Obama Care," is a United States federal statute signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. The purpose of the ACA was to increase the quality and affordability of health insurance and lower the uninsured rates by expanding public and private insurance coverage. In the public relations push for President Obama's takeover of the American health care system, he promised that those who like their insurance could keep it, premiums would decrease, and no one would lose their doctor. We know now, those were all lies told repeatedly and never questioned by a media that is looking the other way. Another promise Obama made was the ACA would not fund abortions. This in fact, nestled within the individual mandate in the Act, the portion requiring every American to purchase government – approved insurance or pay a penalty, is an abortion premium mandate. This mandate requires all individuals enrolled in insurance plans that include elective abortion coverage to pay a separate premium from their own pockets to fund abortion (Ertelt). .
Obama Care will force all Americans to pay for the execution of our unborn brothers and sisters. The Hyde Amendment has been in effect for three decades and it forbids the use of certain federal funds to pay for abortion with exceptions of incest and rape. I believe women have the right to terminate a pregnancy only under these circumstances; any other reason is simply injustice. It's astonishing how far those in our government have gone to assert what is an affront to all that makes us human. Through the multi-state healthcare plans alone, Americans will be complicit in the deaths of thousands of unborn children each year through their tax dollars. The health law will create an elaborate procedure requiring individuals in 2014, who by an exchange policy with abortion coverage, to make two separate payments.
