Psychology - Behavior, Biology and Social Learning

For as long as I can remember I have always enjoyed observing people and watching their behaviors in any given situation. When I was a little girl I can remember instead of playing I would watch the other children play; my teachers and parents thought this was because I was shy but I now believe that it was my scientific intuition. Even then when I had never even heard of naturalistic observation I was forming opinions and wandering while people act the way they acted. For my naturalistic observation I observed people at my church during Sunday morning worship service. This was easily because having a notepad and writing is something everybody does during service, especially when the minister is up preaching. For my observation I focused on how at different points in the service how different people reacted. For example, during praise in worship if the praise team is sing uplifting and shouting songs most people are up on their feet dancing and shouting, but the same people when the music changed to a slower song would immediately start crying. You would assume that the different reactions would be considered they way that they praise God but I believe that there are some other underlying factors. I initially intended to only observe the individuals for the first 30 minutes of services but because of my natural fascination with how people actions, I observed them even longer. I learned that some people tend to always leave out during the offering and prayer and these same people appear to be taking a nap during the preaching, but as soon as the music starts are the first ones to be up dancing and shouting. To validate my findings and to see if this was just an isolated occurrence I also went to church with a friend and observed what went on during their Sunday morning worship service. What I learned was that the same things were happening at her church as well.
The behavior observed can be measured using biological factors, social learning and adaptation factors.
