The Wonderlic Test

The principles that I feel are most important are ease of use, reliability, validity and results and reports. Any psychometric test must be easy to take and understand. If you have a test that is confusing the results will be tainted because the participant isn't able to properly answer the question. That could be a huge issue if the participant is required to take the test for potential employment, it could cause them to not get a desired job. The test must also be reliable meaning the results are repeatable. You don't want to have a test where the same person might get a different score each time they take it. If you have a test that produces different results there is know real way of knowing which result is right and which result isn't. In my opinion validity is the most important item for any test given. It is so important that a test actually measure what it intended to measure. This sounds like a simple concept and it really is. It would be completely pointless to have a personality test that doesn't measure a person personality or an intelligence test that doesn't measure intelligence. Last but not least the results of the test must be precise and easy to understand. When a participant gets there score it must be easily visible an it's important that they know what that score means. It is also vital that the test giver be able to understand the results so they can give proper feedback to the participant. .
For the ease of use in my rubric I created three criteria sections: excellent which is 3 points, good which is 2 points and poor which is 1 point. In order to score in the excellent category the test needs to be very easy to understand and complete and the instructions must be easy to follow. If the test can be taken with relative ease but some of the instructions or question might be unclear it would receive a score of good. Finally if the test is not easy to understand and complete, and the instructions are difficult to follow it would receive a poor grade.
