This evening I arrived home to find that dinner for the family was almost ready. Again I have the same thing which is bread, dried fish, vegetables and beer. Theres not much variety to be had, thats why my favourite days are special days because there is some variety. Any way Im hungry and thirsty so I am happy enough with any meal. As night sets in I light a little old oil lamp and join my wife putting my son to bed. There is not much to do after the sun goes down so I just go to bed and get another great nights sleep for my next day of hard work. .

Day 2 .
Dear Diary, This morning as the sun was rising as I got up and shaved and washed. For breakfast I had what I normally have.
I now go to work; my wife gathers some wood and kindling for the fire and begins grinding up wheat to make into bread which is one of the main foods in our diet. I dont have to walk too far to where I work. I work in the fields near my house so I dont have to worry very much about a long walk to work as my walk only takes a few minutes.
So far this year has been a good, with a large harvest of plants used for food, clothing and medicine. Some of our harvest needs to be given to the temple for letting us use its land. Today is the day I am delivering some of the food harvest. I fill a few reasonable size baskets up and load them onto some donkeys. I then deliver them with two field workers to the temple.
In the afternoon, on the way back to work I stopped with my fellow workers and had a quick lunch of bread, dried fish, vegetables and beer. Then we had to work for the rest of the afternoon through the hottest part of the day. It got very hot out in the field working and we had plenty of water to drink from the irrigation ditch. I was tending my few cattle and ducks and also working on my crop. As the sun slowly goes down, I was watching this beautiful sunset saying thanks to Ra god of the sun. When the sun went down, after a tiring days work I started to head home.
