As for self defense your body and strength won't do much but for the citizens they see self defense as to carrying a gun with them everywhere they go. In order to do so you must have a permit in the state they reside in to carry a concealed handgun. Now being the oldest civil liberties association the National Rifle Association (NRA) greatly value to the right of the 2nd amendment. having over 4.3 million members. Other than that the arguments that they argue about is " The 2nd amendment allows you to bear arms not carry a concealed weapon".
             Not everyone will agree that carrying a concealed handgun protects you from any dangers, but citizens that do carry it feel much safer if they are out in the dangerous areas. Where in that case the handgun would come in handy another reason is that the government does not always can be behind everyone's back protecting them. Its more of the responsibility of the person itself and family to have their safety. More arguments arise that it should be up to the Public Safety such as policemen to carry handguns because they were properly trained and that any adult could get a permit in their state without any practice or history of holding a gun which is a huge risk to take. President Obama being a liberal does not ensure the concealed weapons should be out carried to the public quoting "I am not in the favor of concealed weapons. I think it creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could get shot during altercations".[27] Which he received a rating of "F" to the NRA due to his effect of gun ownership. In other recent news Tallahassee, Florida just went through a hurricane and the citizens want to carry a concealed weapon without a permit when natural disasters occur so they can ensure their safety.
