Civil Disobedience and the Rights of Islamic Women

            Civil Disobedience: Islamic women's rights.
Some Islamic cultures who have extreme religious practices often promote unequal privileges to women in their particular societies. In Fact, Many women are treated not only as secondary citizens but often regarded irrelevant in these male dominated societies. Women who live in these types of societies could potentially learn from idealists such as Sophocles, Gandhi, and Martin Luther King Jr. about their civil disobedience beliefs. To get to their desired end state: these women must speak up for what they want and what could potentially benefit them in the near future, rally for and discipline their supporters, and last hold non-violent protests. Frankly, there are some female heroes amongst these cultures who've utilized some of these teachings from the visionaries listed above.
In those earlier mentioned extremist society's women can grasp through both of the works of Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. that to civilly disobey flawlessly you must first speak out. Just as Gandhi said "I urge you to speak sedition ". These unjust laws prevent women from living their lives to the fullest because it " distorts the soul and damages the personality " said MLKJ. These women are urged to speak "sedition " because "an unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law " MLKJ concurs with Gandhi. These women should be respected citizens for all they do and go through. For example, on recent events in Iran a woman has een in jail for 100 days so far due to attempting to watch a men's volleyball match. MLKJ said women have a "moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws "; in other words they don't "count ".
Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Sophocles taught that in order to have a successful outcry your supporters must be well disciplined, almost as if they were a soldier. This is because Gandhi said "A body of civil resisters is like an army subject to all discipline of a soldier's life ".
