             Since the social network explosion following the end of the 20th century, children and young adults have leaned on these sites so satisfy social development. These transformative years are very important and the introduction of social media has had an overall positive impact for the healthy development of a child. As kids start going through intermediate school (age 9-13) staying connected with peers and having a sense of belonging is just a few of the benefits of these sites according to the study done by Quinn, S., & Oldmeadow, J. A. (2013). The ability to communicate with relatively all your peers at any given time is something to be appreciated and utilized during childhood where you have questions pertaining school and questions about what's going on in your life. Interactions between peers involving these sorts of questions can be very beneficial to both kids and give more social reward than simply talking to a parents or teacher. As kids interact more with kids of their own age they start to gain emotional intelligence and a better understanding of social interaction and how to solve problems. To gain these benefits from social media there must be a sense of parental monitoring or some figure who is there to make sure there isn't inappropriate usage of these sites as explained by Social Media Use and Adolescents: A Guide for Parents. (2014). With proper supervision social media is a positive channel in which kids can feel a sense of belonging and communicate effectively with their peers. .
             Kids and young adults are not the only group that largely benefits from the rise in popularity of social networks. Businesses groups are quickly integrating social networks into their organization due to its efficiency and its ability to overcome communication barriers. Overall productivity increases throughout the business if social media is utilized in the proper manner. Among employees, groups on Facebook and other sites offer a great resource for questions that multiple people could have as well as a place to post alerts and other upcoming deadlines.
