The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) Overhaul

Honestly, the SATs have the ability to invoke fear in me the same way the boogeyman makes little kids afraid to go to sleep at night. Just thinking about it makes me want to faint. My experience with the SATs was so awful. The day already started off horrible because I lost my glasses. I had a teacher walk me ALL around the school so I could look for them. I got super annoyed that I had to take a test in addition to the stress that I was already feeling from every other aspect of my life. I thought about all this stress and decided. When the teacher dropped me off at the testing room after our 2 minute conversation about the various breakfast foods I figured I .
I don't believe that a simple score on a test reflects on my ability to be studious in college. The test does not show what I have learned during the past three years in high school but it does show my ability to regurgitate the information I learned during $5,000 SAT training classes. The thought of the SATs cause anxiety in certain people, including myself. Those who do well on the SATs most likely took steps such as enrolling in expensive classes in order to ensure an advantageous score. While that's great for them that they were able to take classes this does not necessarily mean that they will do better in college than those who did poorly on the test. It's ridiculous to think that I will be tested on atypical words that one does not encounter frequently. Honestly, how often does the word "ebullient" come up during real life conversations? Teenagers will not be considered college ready due to the fact that they do not know the meaning of the word "ebullient" and other words like it. In my opinion, it doesn't make much sense to test teens on words that they will most likely never encounter or use again after the SATs. If I'm going to be tested on something I want it to be my ability to analyze information using context clues and potential background knowledge.
