BioPsychosocial Assessment


Michelle has stated that "I am totally aware of my disorders and how to deal with the symptoms but recently I have become overwhelmed with my current homelessness, my medications and my family not approving of my sexuality" that is why I have choose to receive help from Stanley Isaac's. Michelle present problems consist of overdosing on her prescribed medications because of her depression issues. She feels as if the medication will help with her depression but the medication has been prescribed to help with her bipolar disorder and ADD. She is unaware of the dangers of overdosing and wants to continue to do so until "she is either placed in the hospital or dies" as Michelle angrily states. .
             History of Problem .
             Michelle's history includes being diagnosed with ADHD and bipolar disorder and depression at the age of 8. Michelle has always been bullied in school because of her family's financial status. Her family was not able to buy certain things because of low income. Michelle has always struggled with her sexuality at a young age. This has caused her to suffer from depression, not feeling normal. Michelle's biological mother was expressed as being a drug addict and unfit mother by her adopted parents. Michelle has yet to meet her biological mother because of fear of being rejected. Michelle has attachment issues which arise at the age of 2. She has always felt as if she was abandoned and thrown away by her mother. Therefore she feels no sense of attachment towards her adopted mother, father and extended family. Michelle's current problem has steamed from rapid onset. Michelle has been seeing her psychiatrist since elementary school because of her behavior and slight learning disabilities. Which lead to her diagnoses of bipolar disorder, ADHD, and ODD. Michelle at the age of 14 started to use drugs excessively. She has claimed to have used marijuana, cocaine, prescription drugs and inhales bathroom cleaning products.
