Water Contamination

For example with the Kettleman City waste dump landfill where hazardous wastes are being dumped, around 11 children were born with some kind of physical deformities from which 3 children have died already. The ground water of this town has been tainted for many years because of all the chemicals that are being dumped in the waste landfill in Kettleman City. People cannot drink tap water, or use it to cook because it is contaminated with arsenic. The Kettleman City waste landfill which is owned by the Waste Management Inc it is trying to get permission to expand its landfill in Kettleman City, and it has the support from Kings County. .
             Something has to be done to fix this water contamination problem caused by the landfill, because it is not just contaminating the soil and water of this town but different landfills in other cities may be contaminating the water which people are drinking. It is also causing serious health problems to the people that are being affected by this kind of problem. It is also causing some kind of economic problem because since people cannot drink water from their faucet they have to go buy bottle water so they are able to drink water and be able to use it when cooking. The health problems are also causing them economic problems especially the families that have children with some kind of deformities caused by the contamination of the water. The children need to be taken to go see specialist so the parents could learn how to care for their children so they could have a better life. .
             Causes of Ground Water Contamination.
             Water contamination may be caused by many different factors such as the wastes that are dumped in the municipal landfills as well as the chemicals that may also be dumped in the municipal landfills when they were supposed to be dumped in the hazardous waste landfills are being buried underground so the smell will not cause problems with the people living close to the landfills.
