As A Man Thinketh

As the author states: "Every thought-seed sown or allowed to fall into the mind, and to take root there, produces its own, blossoming sooner or later into act, and bearing its own fruitage of opportunity and circumstance. Good thoughts bear good fruit, bad thoughts bad fruit." I can say that I wholeheartedly concur with the author when he implies that a rich man can lose all of his riches because of deceitful thoughts. As well as a poor man gaining riches and experience from having prosperous thoughts.
Chapter Three intrigued me very much because I have never actually thought that the way that one thinks or one's thought process can actually affect their health. I can argue that the author is correct in saying "Change of diet will not help a man who will not change his thoughts." In my own personal experience with people who take on diets I see that they never really work until the person has the correct state of mind for the diet. Try as they might, if they are not mentally prepared they will surely fail.
My take on Chapter Four is how we apply the thoughts we've planted into our minds and their purpose. "As the physically weak man can make himself strong by careful and patient training, so the man of weak thoughts can make them strong by exercising himself in right thinking." This chapter reminds me of how self motivation plays such a big part in one's inner and outer success. I believe that believing in yourself will get you farther than anyone else believing in you. .
When I read Chapter Five the saying that came to my mind was: "You can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped." The easiest way to interpret this is, a person will only .
accept help when they are mentally ready to be helped. I couldn't have stated it better when the author says: "A man can only rise, conquer, and achieve by lifting up his thoughts. He can only remain weak, and abject, and miserable by refusing to lift up his thoughts.
