In the next few months, after successfully earning my MSA, I will get my certification in public accounting. Soon after, I will seek a position in one of the Big Four public accounting firms or in a major corporation's accounting departments, preferably in a Fortune 500 company. In addition to providing me with an opportunity to apply what I have learned, this future position will expose me to the practical financial issues in the accounting world. Because of the excellent preparation SMU will have provided me, I will immediately excel and climb up the corporate ladder. Also, I want to network with various profit and non-profit organizations around the metropolis and learn as much as possible about the operations of running an organization. .
Recently, I have started volunteering with a non-profit organization who specializes in guiding and counseling individuals who were victims to bullying. As child, I did not have a positive or stable influence to mentor or show me the importance of goodwill and education, which is why I plan to start my own non-profit organization that will coach and mentor children and young adults. Not only will my organization mentor them into becoming a positive contributions to society, but also as hardworking students. Aligned with my organization, there will be a year round tutoring center to teach and assist them with subjects they find challenging. In time, I want my organization to expand, not only around the Dallas metropolis, but as far as California. .
One of my many long term goals is to climb up the corporate ladder and achieve a CFO or controller position in a large international corporation. One of my highest aspirations is to be one of those who establishes, or significantly financially advances, a corporation. Therefore, I intend to develop within the scope of one firm. I visualize myself to be making financial business decisions, such as investing the company's money into a new and forthcoming project which is critical towards the success of the organization.
