The Genesis of East Asia: 221 B.C.–A.D. 907

There are many books that are very informative about a certain topic. Some books just explain to a reader in very biased approach, they can be very knowledgeable yet viewed in only one way. For this a reader needs to understand what the authors' viewpoints are and read in manner where one can be unbiased. Critiquing the book is the best way to understand what views the author might have. In the book, The Genesis of East Asia, 221 B.C- A.D. 907, by Charles Holcombe, talks about why Asia is called East Asia. It is book full of information on China and how it brought about similar religion and writing throughout Asia. After reading this book I began to understand what the authors view were. The author has a sense of being biased, a lot of it was positive for the book and some were negative. Also I began to understand Holcombe's methodology; he had different types that were useful and appropriate. Holcombe even had theoretical propositions that seem to be creditable with all the information he provided in his book.
Holcombe, in his book, wrote many information things about China. He fully explained the history of China and how China's culture spread throughout Asia. Holcombe, providing thorough information seemed to be very biased of Asia. It seemed that he was promoting China as one of the founder of Asia. The negativity of this approach only allowed him to speak about one country and only provide information on that one country. With this approach Holcombe explains thoroughly about China. He provides great history on how some of the lands in China, when china expanded, are now different countries like Vietnam. .
There are many positive things that helped the book out with being biased. Holcombe being biased of East Asia, specifically of China, explains how many countries embraced the culture of China. Holcombe talks about how China had many different stages in time. Many countries around China embraced the different cultures in China according to certain times.
