The Cyclops in The Odyssey

In the textbook version of The Odyssey, Odysseus boasts about how he has defeated the Cyclops. He tells the Cyclops that it is Odysseus that has blinded the Cyclops son of Poseidon. As they are communicating, Odysseus' men tell him to let it go, because the Cyclops can hear him and land the next boulder. The first things the Cyclops threw at them was the top of the hill, it landed in front of the boat which caused the boat to drift back to shore, the men had to paddle out again. The next thing the Cyclops threw was a boulder which landed behind the boat and caused them to go farther out. .
In the graphic novel version of The Odyssey, Odysseus says, "Cyclops! Your victims have escaped, and the gods have paid you back for your crimes!" Odysseus does not say this in the textbook or movie version. The Cyclops throws a piece of the side of the mountain, not the top as said in the textbook. The splash did land in front their ship similar to the textbook scene, but the Cyclops did throw another boulder that landed behind the ship like in the textbook as well. After Odysseus' ship has gotten some distance he says, "Cyclops, if anyone asks who put out your eye, tell them it was Odysseus of Ithaca!" .
In the movie version of The Odyssey, Odysseus boasts about his victory over Poseidon more than the actual victory over the Cyclops. His conversation with the Cyclops is very short and not as detailed as the book versions. Odysseus' men do not warn his to stop shouting to the Cyclops. The boulder size in the movie is tiny compared to the size descriptions of the boulders in the books. The boulder did not even create a drift to disturb the ships path. .
There is much value for the faith in gods because there is a lot of reliance on the gods for help, many prayers are made to Athena and Zeus, but he doesn't like Poseidon. There are many examples of reliance upon gods in the story; like in the poem version Odysseus flips a coin to pick his men that will help him take out the Cyclops' eye.
