I'll be back at around 11:30." She hurriedly grabbed her purse and gave Harley a sharp look. He quickly ducked his head back into the pages filled with rambling words about the government of Germany. He heard the door slam close and suddenly got out of his seat and ran to the window. Harley patiently waited for a couple of minutes and then saw his mom emerge with a ridiculously large yellow sun hat. She got into a small convertible and drove off into the midst of the busy streets. Harley gleefully ran back to his desk, pulled out a drawer filled with junk, and dug around until he found a ten dollar bill that he had worked hard to earn. Harley was forbidden to eat candy after his parents had read a health article on the internet. Actually, he was forbidden to eat many things but candy was just not something Harley could give up on. He loved how it could be sour, tart, and sting your tongue or soft and creamily scrumptious. So many colors, shapes, and flavors! Chocolate was like manna from heaven to Harley when he was depressed. He rarely got to eat candy and he now considered it a delicacy. It was his chance! He could buy all the candy he wanted and secretly stash it somewhere in his room. His parents would never find out! Harley quickly ran to the door, just this once he thought. Unfortunately, he didn't notice his little sister sitting at the table.
"Where are you going Harley?" She asked in a sweet voice like poisoned honey.
"Here's the deal. I'm going out to buy candy and I'll buy you some Hershey's if you don't tell mom and dad." Harley said. He knew that his sister loved Hershey's and she too was forbidden from eating candy. Grace pursed her lips with a look of uncertainty on her face. Finally she said, "All right, but you have to buy me two bars of chocolate.".
Harley quickly nodded his head and ran outside. After walking for a minute or two, Harley noticed something out of the corner of his eye.
