Psychology Research Paper - Depression

So what I am stating is that, experiences/impactful occurrences can help fuel major depression if not caught early.
             Dysthymic Depression is a low level of depression that lasts up to at least two years and in most cases longer. When one is diagnosed with Dysthymic Depression they are very resistant to treatment. A really good example I can use for this is myself. I have been diagnosed with depression for quite some time. I used to label myself under this category because I used to refuse any form or sort of treatment to help me. I was a victim of depression for about 4 years. Based on the external events that occurred around me, I was less resistant to becoming depressed. So like my friend who I previously stated, we both received depression through external events. Although Dysthymic Depression's symptoms are not as severe as Major Depression's symptoms, they are still important. Dysthymic's will usually undergo a Major Depression episode sometime during their dysthymic period.
             Bipolar Depression, also known as, Manic Depression, is yet another type of Depression. This type has very different symptoms than that of Major Depression or Dysthymic. The symptoms of Bipolar Disorder are having both very high and very low mood swings. When I was thinking about examples for Bipolar Depression, I like to pin point that a lot of secretaries who hate their bosses; may be in fact on the receiving end of this form of depression. When one has Manic Depression one day they could be extremely happy and the next in a very severe depressive mood. This change in mood can happen over hours or over a period of time. The differences between Dysthymic Depression and Bipolar Disorder is that Dysthymia does not affect normal activities like Bipolar Disorder; it also stays longer. Teenagers are the most common to be heard of being affected by the disease. This is probably because of peer pressure. Although the rate of suicide as a whole has decreased in the past few years, the fixed amount of suicide from those between fifteen and nineteen has increased dramatically.
