             Very recently a newspaper had published the news emphasizing the cleanliness and maintenance of railway stations and how the unhygienic habits and improper sanitation affects the human life and health. Discarded food materials, human feces expelled from the train can provide ideal environment to rats, rodents and cockroaches. So the government for Indian railways has to take necessary precautions by taking pest control measures, design of modern toilets, providing adequate dust collecting bins at stations from which the discharge of human waste can be avoided.
             It is estimated that more than 4 million government employees and students of schools and colleges are going to take part in this campaign.

             CLEAN-India(Community Led Environmental Action Network) is an environmental Assessment, Awareness, Action and Advocacy programme with a growing network of One million students, 400 schools, 30 NGOs and Government support in 78 Indian cities. .
             CLEAN-India programme, an initiative of Development Alternatives was launched in 1996 with a vision of developing cleaner environment for our towns and cities through a network of schools and NGOs linked with Government, business, academic and other institutions.
