Igor, the leader of the militia allegedly responsible for the destruction of the aircraft, was born in Russia and raised in Moscow. He is strongly attached to the history of the glory days of the Russian empire. His appearance in Ukraine can be traced from the Crimea fighting during the early part of this year 2014. He was sent to Ukraine to serve as the adviser to the separatist leader in Crimea regarding issues on security. However, Igor is just one of the many Russian rebel leaders pervading the territorial jurisdiction of Ukraine. The question now is what really is the interest of Russia in Ukraine? Why Russian rebels continue to invade some parts of the Ukraine territory? .
In this paper, I will endeavor to explore the conflict between Russia and Ukraine that has been continuing for quite a long time now. I will trace the history of the conflict between these two countries. I will also talk about the current status between these two nations. I will discuss how this conflict is affecting people from both Russia and Ukraine and how they are coping with the situation. Finally, I will talk about the perceptions of different countries regarding the pressure that Russia is imposing upon Ukraine, as well as the assistance that Ukraine is receiving from other governments. .
