Wal-Mart and the Feed My People Program

Which is a remarkable because that helps needy family get the kind of help they need. Jim Gardner, general manager, of the Fenton Wal-Mart says that "this is why so many grocery stores donate cans.they will get eaten faster and will have served their purpose."" The Wal-Mart needs to get in touch with its community and realise how much help they could be if they did donate their goods. The big decision relies on their general manager who decides on all of the bills and rules. There would be no harm done in donating the cans. He thinks that donating the cans will take away from Wal-Mart's profit. .
             Problem.
The Wal-Mart of High Ridge, Missouri is known for many of things, but wasting food is not one of them. Until recently, people did not know that Wal-Mart threw away their damaged canned goods instead of donating them. People thought that everyone did the same thing as Shop n' Save, Aldies, and the Fenton Wal-Mart. They all donate their damaged goods to a variety of charities. Only the management would make this particular Wal-Mart different. It can vary from franchise to franchise, but it is up the the general managers of the store to choose the way they would like to run things. Also, that when dealing with donations of the canned good, they have to go through the inventory and void every single can off. This takes a great deal of time because when a item is donated, it is no longer Wal-Mart"s property or problem. For example, some people worry about donating the canned goods because of the broken seals. Then, there are others who would disagree with the food still being edible after a seal is broken. The seal is there to protect the food from unwanted heat, cold, bacteria, and diseases. Daniel Webb stated in an interview that "this is why "Wal-Mart" does not allow anything with a broken seal to be sold under the companys name. If someone did unfortunately get sick, they could not turn around and sue them for Wal-Mart's money".
