Babel - Connecting the Plots

When Richard was apologizing to Susan while holding her, she continues to say, "It wasn't my fault." Their healing process was taking a trip to Morocco to heal the grief over the death of their third child that had passed. Taking this trip was supposed to heal them by being away from home but instead her getting shot got them to become closer. Another perfect example of healing is with Chieko. Chieko was the first one to find out her mother had shot herself in the head. Cheiko is also a deaf girl, who feels like she is an outsider when it comes to the real world. I feel as if Cheiko, being a mute young woman, does not get to live the normal life - she wants attention and nobody is giving it to her. Therefore she approaches men the wrong way and she aims for attention by giving her body all out like she did for the dentist or for the detective. She wants to be loved and needed and appreciated but does not know how to go about it very well. .
An example of irrevocable decisions would be Yussef and Ahmen playing around with the rifle. They were making a childish decision by shooting a rifle because they did not believe that the rifle shot that far. Not knowing that the rifle even hit the bus or even hurt anyone, eventually they caught on because the bus came to a completed stop and Yussef and Ahmen ran away as quickly as they could. At that point there was nothing they could do other than stay quiet and hope that it it would not come to surface, that was a pure example of irrevocable decisions. .
Another thing that stood out to me was Amelia's situation. Her son is getting married and she can not leave the children behind so she takes them and crosses them from the border of San Diego to Mexico. Not knowing that any harm or damage would happen she did it because that was her last option. It was Amelia's sons wedding, a once in a lifetime opportunity that she couldn't have missed.
