The Destruction of Drug Addiction


Phase two is where you can see noticeable changes with the user because they generally start to use the drug more or less at the appropriate time. Also they may develop self-imposed rules, like I don't drink until after five o'clock. They may also begin to suffer physical pain but no emotional. .
             Phase three begins the start of the overwhelming effects as you become mentally addicted to the chemicals they are putting in their bodies. The user begins to lose control of or loss of predictability over chemical use. They also have trouble predicting the outcome of chemical consumption after use. The episodes begin to violate the user's value system which causes them to experience emotional pain. They also experience negative feelings about themselves which turns into chronic emotional distress. At this point their life style changes and begins to revolve around the drug. The self-imposed rules from stage two are broken regularly and no specific time is set for chemical use. Also your tolerance gains speed keeping the amount of the chemical used growing to dangerous levels. Victim's whole life is deteriorating as health, spirituality, emotional stability and interpersonal relationships become adversely affected. At this phase there is no going back now because you have already began to need the drug to function.
             By the fourth phase the user begins to use the chemical to feel normal rather than using it for the state of mind it had originally been used for. The user begins to black out more frequently and sees that there is a serious problem but does nothing about it. The tolerance that the body originally built in phase three breaks down and this is where physical dependence can occur. Also the addict begins to have paranoid thoughts and feelings regularly while not using the chemical. By this the user is completely addicted and has lost all desire to live and is in complete spiritual bankruptcy.
