The Republican Immigration Policy

Past periods of large-scale immigration occurred before visas and green cards were subject to thorough identification, so the phenomenon of "illegal immigration" is a relatively recent component of immigration policy history and debates. The next vital piece of legislation that involves immigrants coming into America was the Refugee Act of 1980. The Refugee Act was created to provide a permanent and orderly procedure for the entrance to the United States for refugees of special humanitarian concern to the U.S., and to provide complete and consistent necessities for the effective relocation and assimilation of those refugees who were admitted. Throughout the 1980's and 1990's illegal immigration became a central topic of debate, as immigrants poured in from both Canada and Mexico, mainly through land routes. During the 1990's there was an economic recession was accompanied by anti-immigration feelings due to immigrants snatching available jobs because they were willing to work for lower wages. Security was uprooted when the terrorist attack of 9/11 took place in 2001. It injected a new urgency of the INS mission and brought on another shift of the United States immigration policy. .
             There are times in almost every presidency or ruler's term was there is a slight abuse in power. This doesn't mean that the leader of the time was malevolence and power-hungry but it could possibly just mean that they got so passionate into their goals that the "short-cut" was the best way to go. In the past year President Barack Obama has been a prime example of this type of experience. In 2013 Congress hadn't passed immigration legislations, but that didn't stopped President Obama from issuing orders that grant amnesty to illegal immigrants. The latest directive instructs Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials not to enforce immigration laws in cases where an illegal alien is the primary provider for any minor child-regardless of the child's immigration status-or the parent or guardian of a child who is a U.
