Faith in The Ransom of the Red Chief

I will use statistics to help explain the condition of both worldviews and the major flaw in the "common world view." I will assess the implications and consequences for me personally and for society. More specifically I will compare my worldview with the worldview of the main character Sam from the short story, "The Ransom of the Red Chief." .
A worldview is a comprehensive conception or image of the universe and of humanity's relation to it. The centerpiece of my worldview is God and all other beliefs branch from him. I believe that God is the beginning and the end. He has no start and will have no end, "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty" (Revelations 1:8 NIV). The Book of Genesis is the building block for my worldview concerning God, humanity, and the Earth. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1 NIV). From this verse I see that God was there in the beginning and from this verse I can deduct that God has no beginning because he is before our existence. This verse is also the basis of my belief concerning creation. We see a few verses later that God spoke and there was light, "And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light" (Genesis 1:3 NIV). I believe that God spoke and the Universe was formed. .
I believe that humankind was created in the image of God. "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them" (Genesis 1:27 NIV). My belief on epistemology is that our means of knowledge are not solely based on concrete facts. Faith is a means of coming to knowledge in my worldview. Faith reveals things that nothing else can. God gives us Scripture to go beyond ourselves because the Word is God-breathed and his thoughts are higher than ours (Ref. 2Timothy 3:16 NIV, Isaiah 55:8 NIV).
