Biblical Young Men of Integrity

In their daily training and education in the Babylonian palace, they were faced with the challenge of being forced to learn a few subjects which were forbidden by the Torah, namely astrology and sorcery. They knew that they could not control the education syllabus being taught to them, thus they tactfully obeyed the king's orders but refused to commit anything forbidden by the Torah. Instead of risking the king and palace officials' displeasure they practiced a life of leaning to God and trusting when things get beyond their control.
Chapter 2 recorded the most amazing thing that happened in that pagan kingdom. All the wise men of the kingdom (so called the Chaldeans), were summoned to the king's court, not only to interpret the king's dream but to tell the dream itself. The hapless Chaldeans finally admitted that they could not do as the king bids them. The dream was finally revealed and interpreted by Daniel. God showed Daniel the dream and its interpretation in a vision subsequent to a prayer meeting with his friends. The most interesting part of this story was when the king praised Daniel for his ability, Daniel gave God the credit. He did not boast of his achievement for he didn't see it as his, nor did he boast that God had chosen to reveal the dream and interpretation to him. Despite his modesty the king promoted him as the second officer in command.
Chapter 3 recorded how Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah were burnt alive in the plain of Dura. King Nebuchadnezzar found out there was a revolt plotted against him. Secular sources mention how Nebuchadnezzar himself stopped the revolt. To ensure none of the rebels survived or influenced any of the higher ranking officials around the empire, Nebuchadnezzar summoned the higher ranking officials around the empire to attend an unusual meeting, where they would be forced to bow down to a golden statue the king erected as symbol of allegiance to the king.
