Just as October rolls around, so do runny noses, phone calls in sick to work, and propaganda for the Influenza Vaccine. Influenza, or the "Flu" as it is most commonly called, causes a large up stirring every winter. Americans have even given this time a special name, "Flu Season". Almost everywhere you go during "Flu Season" you see propaganda for the vaccine that is supposed to keep you healthy and keep you from getting the flu that says "Get Your Flu Shot!" But why should we get an influenza vaccine? How affective can this vaccine really be if it causes so many drastic and dangerous side effects? But more importantly, how is it legal to give to the public? Here is how it is legal. The Influenza vaccine, known more commonly as the "Flu Shot", is one of the most profitable of all vaccines given out by hospitals. A very well known news station named CNBC stated that in 2012 alone, the influenza vaccination profited approximately $1.43 billion, calling this shot "Pharmaceutical's Next Holy Grail" (Boyle). CNBC also stated that "Vaccines were seen as promising from a business perspective because they could be applied to huge swathes of the population, and because the economic case for payment could be made to governments" (Boyle). This meaning that they could give out their poisonous vaccine, but only if they give a percentage of their profits and expenditures to the Government. Essentially spending money to make money without caring about the outcome of those who acquire a flu shot. Even the stock market is in on this billion dollar poison that is the influenza vaccine. Influenza vaccine stocks are bought and sold every day, which is just another way that the government can profit off of this liquid gold that is slowly killing Americans that get this vaccine yearly. .
The influenza vaccination highly recommended by the Center for Disease Control, suggests that "the Influenza Vaccine should be given to all of those older than 6 months.
