Origins and Growth of New Social Movements

             3. New Social Movements generally abandon both the industrial worker's model of union organization and the political model of political parties. 'In our times, self-transformation and self-construction is boundless.' Consequently the forms of social actions and movements are plural, following many paths, pursuing different ends and articulating different interests.

             1. The conception of social movements correspond to the conception of a specific type of society. He defines New Social Movements by diversity and plurality. New Social Movements have to be seen in relation to the conception of the new representation of society.
