The Fall Of The Romanov Dynasty

The Romanov Dynasty was one of the longest reigning dynasties in all of the world's history. It was also one of the strongest, however, even the mighty fall. The Romanov Dynasty fell about half way through World War 1, and there were many factors that attributed to this. Some of these being: Rasputin's unusual and odd connections to Tsar Nicholas' family, especially the Tsarina, the weakness in ruling that the Tsar possessed and displayed to his people and the fact that they joined World War 1 in the first place. Grigory Rasputin was a Siberian Peasant turned miracle worker who befriended the Tsarina in the late days of the Romanov Dynasty. The Tsarina trusted him deeply after she believed that their son, who had contracted Haemophilia from his mother's side of the family, was less likely to hurt himself, and heal quicker, when Rasputin was around the family. As such, he was often seen with the family, in and outside of the palace, although the latter was rarer than the first. It was often said that the Tsarina had an intimate relationship with Rasputin, and this was a cause for the people's outcry against him. Rasputin was loved and hated by many people; on one hand he was an apparent miracle worker, on the other he was a technical playboy. .
Many times, the family was pushed to turn against him, but all of these attempts failed. If only they had turned their back on him, things might have turned out different for the unfortunate family. In 1916, when the Tsar was away in Petrograd during the war, Rasputin effectively took control of Russia, advising the Tsarina on all decisions made in parliament. Plans arouse to assassinate Rasputin, as he was making terrible decisions for the countries welfare. He was poisoned first, which made no effect to him. He was then shot with a revolver at point blank range, which all of the assassins believed had killed him; however, he was seen stumbling out of the palace short afterwards.
