Heydari et al. (2014) in this quantitative and descriptive correlation design article developed 3-section questionnaires on diet, physical activities and medication, based on previous studies. The necessary corrections in the questionnaires were performed after experts' review. The reliability of the questionnaires were tested through test-retest reliability, achieving 90% consistency or stability in the data. The questionnaires were filled out twice by the group of participants with 20 days apart. Inter-rater reliability method was utilized by comparing the data of 2 raters on group of 15 patients each and then result is consolidated through getting the Pearson's correlation coefficients of 0.86, 0.95 and 0.91 respectively in 3 section topics. According to Grove, Gray & Burns (2015), a reliability of 0.80 is usually considered a strong coefficient for a scale. Authors analyzed the Data using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) software , but the internal consistency with Cronbach's alpha is not mentioned, and the same weight for each question is linearly designated on all the sections, and results are shown in poor , moderate and good standing levels. .
Heydari et al.(2014) vividly described in the article that questionnaires were examined by content validity. This approach assumes that the authors have a good detailed description of the content domain. Author used Spearman's correlation test to show the positive correlation between 2 variables, 1) Education of disease and 2) Treatment adherence. It is also worth noting that a Spearman's correlation can be used when your two variables are not normally distributed.
