In all my uncertainties, I continued to sit at home in front of that $3,500 dollar DJ set.
             I decided to ask myself these questions and tried to get the questions answered. I decided to look into the library sources. I found publications of On-Air DJ's and Radio Personalities who's career in the Radio Broadcasting Industry began as a vision in one day working to entertain Listeners. According to the World Book Advanced a DJ is Define as " Disk Jockey- A host of a radio program of recorded popular music; A person who plays recorded music for dancing or parties. A performer who uses recored sounds and turntables to create musical pieces. (DJ) The first thing that I found out was that the DJ industry is very competitive. Theirs three types of DJ's : Club DJ's On-Air personality DJ's, Scratch/ Battle DJ's. Club DJ's get booked at different venues or they have a permanent residency in which they DJ anywhere from 4-5 times a week. A club DJ is an Artis. Brent Silby, a writer for Def- Logic Production in New Zealand wrote a piece on DJing. He stated " The primary goal is to make people dance" (Silby) .
             What is a Disk Jockey? A DJ to be short. When you think about a DJ you can sit back and visualize a person playing music at a party or a club. The music is playing loud where you just get hypnotize with the waves of the beat and you follow the flashing lights in the room. You become a social bee with other people. A DJ, if he is good will always read the crowed on the dance floor and not allow tumbleweeds to fly by the dance floor. DJ usually have the crowed anxious to get into a venue because the song selections are popular songs that stimulates the people waiting to enter the venue. But we also have those DJ that just set the move for us in the car on the way to the venue. These DJ are on-air or in other words radio DJ. They work for a particular radio station that plays the latest music, they play the Top 40 songs that are in demand and also have interesting topics that they talk about that people like ourselves can related on a daily basis.
