Two Approaches to Parenting

In an ideal world, a child is well mannered, with good behavior, and always listens to instructions. The idea seems highly impossible at times because let's face it; raising a child is an extremely tough job. Parents take different approaches or styles in raising their children no matter what age, or gender the child is. Some parents pursue an authoritative, stricter, and create a tyrannical approach to raise their children. While others are less strict with an easy flowing trusting approach. In conclusion, a parent who is less strict on their children is a better parental approach than being an authoritative strict parent.
To begin with, the first reason I believe a parent who is less strict with a child gains trust and more respect when raising a child. A household with a less strict parent on their children is more trust worthy. They are seen more as a friend rather than an authority figure. A parent who is strict is seen as an enemy and the child becomes more defiant. A less defiant child most likely listens well with their parents. They later on become more successful in life and gain much more opportunities. Another reason why being a parent who isn't as strict is great because the child can see you as more than a parent; like a friend. It's a better approach to more of a friend than an authority figure. A child will be more open and talk to you if they have problems or they need help. It's easier to speak with someone who isn't as hard or with a lenient mentality. Lastly, a child who doesn't have strict parents tend to become more respectful with their parents, and authority figures throughout life overall. Being respected is the main key when raising a child. They follow instructions no questions asked, and when something is demanded. Rather than being defiant to authority and always breaking the rules causes a lot of stress and grief for both parents and kids. Therefore, gaining respect from your children because you weren't as strict is a great approach when it comes to parenting.
