World Religion - Hinduism

Hinduism, is defined by the dictionary as a major religious and cultural tradition of South Asia. This is the religion I found to be most interesting out of the ones we talked about in class. One of the many things that intrigued me was the polytheistic aspect of the religion. When I was in High School I studied a lot of Greek mythology and I really enjoyed it. I like the idea of people having a different God or Goddess for each kind of aspect in life. For example each religions has a god of fire. The Greeks had Hephaestus and the Hindus have Agni. I am not sure if Agni and other gods like that are mythological or if they still praise them. Those are the kind of gods that I like. Another one is Bakasura who is known as the Great Devourer. I did some research on my own because I enjoy this religion that much. I like that each god has a purpose and I like how they are dressed and what they look like. There are many more aspects of Hinduism that are enjoyable outside just the polytheistic part. One of the main reasons I chose this religion is because many of the gods are on a online game that I play on my computer known as smite. On this game it has many gods and goddesses from many religions including Hinduism and that's why this interested me because I wanted to learn more about them.
There is a lot behind the origin of Hinduism. One it is a very large part of Asia today. It began at around 2000 B.C.E. In India. However, it is very difficult to determine the exact time it began. The population of the Hindus is 827,578,868. Obviously it is one of the major religions in the world and possibly thee major religion in Asia. There are also no specific founders of Hinduism. There are different origins and founders written down so no one actually knows the exact origin and the exact founder are too difficult to find. Unfortunately I will not be able to talk about a founder due to the fact that no one actually knows who the real founder is.
