Being a Server

I was on my way to work thinking about what I"m going to write about for my next paper in one of my classes. I had been thinking about it for a while the whole week before and not been able to come up with any good ideas. I finally get to work all dressed up in my black tuxedo pants, vest, new white tuxedo shirt, and shiny black bow tie. I am a server at a banquet hall.
             .
While working I am carrying hot terrains of soup out to serve my tables and someone runs into me knocking hot soup all over me. Leaving hot soup running down my shoulder, back, and arms. The soup ended up being hot enough to give me third degree burns all over. While sitting there at work covered in soup and icing my burns it finally came to me. I can write my paper on what its like being a waiter and all the different aspects of the job.
             .
Many people have never been a waiter to understand the things that go along with the job. I have been a waiter for about 4 years now starting when I was only 14 years old. I have seen many people come and go through my job over the years. People seem to look at the term waiter just as you serve food to a table but that's usually not all you have to do. There are a few different types of waiters depending on the service required. A waiter in a restaurant usually has to take the guests orders and have them cooked, then serve the food to the right people at the right tables and clear the tables if there is no bus boy. They would get the tables any requests they need such as refills on drinks and commandments for the food.
Restaurant waiters also have to worry about getting the customers their bills and they always get tipped.
             .
Then there are waiters at banquet halls. They do things similar to a waiter at a restaurant. A banquet waiter has to serve between twenty and fifty people at a time. They never have to take orders since all people are served the same meal. They have to do all the serving and clean up for all of the people there are never busboys.
