Human Sexuality in Purple Rain

.
Prince and Brandon face different problems but with similar issues and that's sex, control and women. Prince abuses Apollonia mentally and physical. Like father like son. Brandon is abusive because he gets his way when it comes to sex. They are both good looking men who have some success that could charm women and get what they want when they want. At some points of the movie they both go through pain and grief. Prince he is struggling with his music career and Apollonia. Brandon because he knows he has an issue with him being a sex addicts but doesn't know how to control it. He sleeps with any women he wants and shows no compassion to the women he slept with. The only time he shows his true emotions is when he finds his sister (who also has a sexual dysfunctional issue) in the bathroom bleeding to death. In Purple Rain, Prince uses Apollonia and abuses her mentally and physically. An example was when Prince and Apollonia where in a bedroom and Prince slaps her to the ground because she betrayed him and he has this look of rage on his face. In both movies, even though they come off as men who don't care about women, it not really 100% true. In shame, even thought Brandon is like a blank slate he doesn't have the ability to care for the women he has sex with, he does cry about also losing his sister. In "Purple Rain," Prince and Apollonia eventually do become one. They both had the ability to care for someone. .
Prince and Brandon while they are similar also have their differences. Brandon is an uncontrollable sex addict having multiple problems compared to Prince just having one interest who is Apollonia. Brandon doesn't physically abuse the women he encounters them unlike Prince who does because it's a learned behavior from his father. Prince, even though he abuses Apollonia, he does care for her and has this emotional attachment to her. They go out and have fun; he gets her a gig to perform and ultimately starts her career.
