Mr Snowden is currently charged in a criminal complaint with two violations of the Espionage Act involving unauthorized communication of classified information, and a charge of theft of government property. This is a serious offence and causes a considerable amount of impact to the national security and the confidential of the government. Consequently, the disclosures have resulted in the nation security concern, particularly for the U.S citizens as well as their alliance nations such as Australia and United Kingdom for instance. At least 15,000 Australian intelligence files, have been stolen (Stewart & Paul, 2013).
There has been a similar case relating to the disclosure of the classified information. In some circumstance, Wikileaks exposed to the information, which were highly classified as the security of the nation, which are protected from the public and caused a significant problem. Wikileaks are seen as an act of unethical. The government should not hide secrets from U.S citizen and showing us the transparency within the government activities. By disclosing the NSA surveillance of the U.S citizens, it can be seen that Mr. Snowden has done in an entirely correct manner in regard to the right to speak. The government, through NSA surveillance was directly violating their constitutional right to the people which give them power. Moreover, the government has invaded the boundary and that invasion is breaking the trust between the U.S citizens and government. .
It is clear that the information disclosure by Snowden demonstrates to a massive instance of misconduct and illegality by an agency of the US government. Alternatively, the NSA broke federal privacy laws, or exceeded its authority (Gellman 2013). The unethical concern on the NSA surveillance activities have crossed the boundary of their mission and objectives by collecting data and spying network which collects masses of data on the private communications of non-US citizens, without requirement for any permission and respect to any of the individuals whose communications are collected.
