Setting Limits on Television Sexuality and Violence

The reason for this lies in the fact that children are extremely vulnerable and incapable of analyzing a situation before taking action. This can lead to bullying in school, high curiosity for weaponry and may even initiate criminal activities in the future, which all reflect the scenes learnt from television. Even though this issue may not have appeared to be a great issue in the past, as the demand for violence increased vastly, it is seen in almost every film or television series. This is evident because it has been deduced that children are becoming unemotional towards violence, and are turning to it as a way to resolve their personal and everyday issues and are casually mimicking the performances they see (University of Illinois, 2014). Therefore, governments are attempting to control the flow of violent behaviors by analyzing which scenes are appropriate for general television. By doing so, they are providing a social and moral favor to future generations to reduce the issue at hand. The morality of this issue comes into play when dealing with family members. Not only do children begin acting violently at school, but they also start to mistreat their parents and siblings by speaking rudely and talking back, or in some cases, they even attempt to hit their parents in order to satisfy their wants; no matter how ridiculous it can be. In the case of sexuality, it appears to be a necessity in almost every film in order to exaggerate the point filmmakers desire to portray to their audience. The repetitive observance of such scenes, for young children, soon becomes a regularity imprinted into their brains, which prevents them from learning and experiencing life the way they should. .
A long term effect that excess pornography can have on children is causing them to obtain an addictive and dirty minded personality. Life has several stages, most importantly before and after hitting puberty, in which each stage should have a specific way of thought according to the child's maturity level.
